🐻📚 Going on a Bear Hunt! 📚🐻
Students in Mrs. Angie’s Save the Children class had fun getting creative after reading Going on a Bear Hunt! The students made their very own bear masks to go along with the story. 🐻❤️
What a fun way to bring a favorite story to life while building reading skills and encouraging creativity! 📖

Picture Day! 📷

Grandparents' Breakfast 2nd-4th grade!

Last week, second grade students participated in a 'Describe and Draw' Activity. This activity teaches students to be effective communicators. They worked in a group with a partner and we placed a small barrier between them so that they could not see each other's paper.
One student completes a simple drawing (like a house, a tree, or a cat). The speaker tells their partner step-by-step how to draw that exact picture without naming the object directly. The second student listens carefully and draws what they hear. They are allowed to ask questions like, "Can you repeat that?" or "Is the circle big or small?" After a few minutes, the students take down the barrier. They compare the original picture to the picture drawn by their partner to see how well they performed.
Students learned that listening is just as important as talking when it comes to communication. The activity encourages clarity in that speakers realize they must use precise words instead of vague terms. Most importantly, students learned that communication goes both ways and asking questions is good.
