Extended deadline for yearbooks! April 28

Classroom Easter Parties

Our 8th graders spent the day at Harlan County High School for Welcome to the Den!
They had the opportunity to explore all the amazing clubs, teams, and organizations HC has to offer and even registered for their classes. High school is just around the corner—exciting times ahead!

8th grade!! Remember TODAY, Tuesday April 15 we will go over to HC for Welcome to the Den! Please send a permission slip if you haven't already and don't forget money to eat on. They all voted DQ a few weeks back. We will leave at 9:30am.

Kindergarten Registration

On Monday, Hope for Appalachian visited Green Hills and we would like to express our appreciation for the fine folks with Team Terry! This exceptional faith-based organization consists of a network of churches, businesses, and individuals throughout Virginia and the U.S. that share the love of Jesus while providing a shoebox-sized package of essential items to children. God bless you folks. FRYSC is thankful for this organization.

Can everyone please take part in this survey for Angie Howard, Save the Children Program Coordinator Teacher. This survey is for all caregivers of children within the school, not just children who participate in Save the Children program . This survey will remain open until June 15th. We need as many responses as possible. It only takes a few minutes to complete.
Thank you and please let Angie Howard know if you have any questions or issues with the survey. I can send a paper version as well.

Want to give your 4-year-old a successful start to kindergarten? Partners for Rural Impact has partnered with Waterford Upstart to bring families Bright Start Explorers – a free program designed to prepare your little one for kindergarten!
In this program, families will receive access to Waterford Upstart, an online learning platform. With Waterford Upstart, children will gain skills in reading, math, and science in just 15-30 minutes a day. For families that need a tablet and/or internet access, we will provide that free of charge. Families will also be supported by caring coaches who offer guidance and encouragement tailored to their child’s progress.
Give your child the tools they need to shine in kindergarten at no cost to you! To register, please contact Paula Bray @ 558-3533 ext.2924 or by email at paula.bray@harlan.kyschools.us. Children who turn four by July 31, 2025, and will not be enrolled in kindergarten in fall 2025 are eligible.

GHES kindergarten students practice their sight words by playing a card game in small groups.
