Child Abuse Awareness

April is Child Abuse Awareness Month

Harlan County and Harlan Independent Family Resource and Youth Service Centers kicked off the annual Child Abuse Awareness month by placing Pinwheels on the Courthouse lawn on Monday March 31. The pinwheels are a national symbol for child abuse prevention. Why? Because by its very nature, the pinwheel promotes playfulness, joy and childhood. That is the childhood we want for all children.

Harlan County Judge Executive Dan Mosley read and signed the 2025 Child Abuse Prevention Month Proclamation.
