Harlan County School District is pleased to partner with Full-Service Community Schools State Scale Up to bring a valuable learning opportunity to four-year-olds in our community, and it’s absolutely free to families!
The Bright Start Explorers program gives four-year-olds access to a proven method to help children be prepared to start strong in kindergarten:
• Waterford Upstart is an online learning platform in reading and math/science designed just for young children. In just 15-30 minutes a day, five days a week, children will develop skills in reading, math, and science to help them be ready for kindergarten. For families that need a tablet and/or internet access, we will provide that free of charge, so all children will have the access they need to the Waterford platform. Families are supported by caring coaches who offer guidance and encouragement tailored to their child’s progress.
